Our client seeking an experienced Trails Guide to join the team at a premier wilderness destination. As a Trails Guide, you will have the opportunity to lead captivating nature walks and provide guests with enriching experiences amidst the breathtaking landscapes of this wilderness area. This is a live-in position, offering a competitive salary ranging from R9,000 to R11,000 depending on experience. Be part of a team committed to delivering unforgettable safari adventures.

Description:

• Lead captivating nature walks, providing guests with insightful information about the flora and fauna of the region.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of guests during guided walks, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences by sharing your passion for the wilderness and its inhabitants.
• Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the overall guest experience and maintain the high standards of our wilderness lodge.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the local ecosystem, wildlife behavior, and conservation principles to educate guests effectively.
• Assist with other lodge activities and guest services as needed, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable stay for all guests.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Trails Guide, preferably with Lead Trails certification (FGASA 2 preferred, but FGASA 1 will be considered).
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for sharing knowledge about the natural world.
• Strong commitment to guest safety and satisfaction, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
• Flexibility to work a 6-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off schedule, including weekends and public holidays.
• A positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset, willing to collaborate with colleagues to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Physical fitness and stamina to lead walks in various terrains and weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and First Aid certification are preferred.
