Sous Chef – Upmarket Pre-opening Restaurant – Abu Dhabi
Our client, a highly esteemed culinary establishment, is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join their team for an exciting preopening restaurant project in Abu Dhabi. The executive chef is a Michelin Star Chef renowned for their expertise and passion for culinary excellence. The restaurant will feature a modern Mediterranean cuisine, showcasing innovative flavors and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the executive chef to develop and execute the menu for the preopening restaurant.
Ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation in line with the executive chef’s culinary vision.
Oversee the kitchen operations, including food production, inventory management, and adherence to food safety standards.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to maintain consistent quality and professionalism.
Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring functionality and cleanliness.
Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and costing.
Requirements:
A hospitality qualification or relevant culinary certification is essential.
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end culinary establishment.
Strong background in classical cooking techniques.
Passion for Modern Mediterranean cuisine and familiarity with its ingredients and flavors.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the kitchen team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and prioritize tasks accordingly.
Proficiency in English
