Sous Chef – Top Restaurant – Stellenbosch
Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join their kitchen team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service are consistently met.
Description:
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and supervision.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure efficient utilization of ingredients, minimizing waste and controlling costs.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development, including the creation of innovative and seasonal dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Help enforce kitchen policies and procedures to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a busy restaurant setting.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Leadership abilities with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
