Sous Chef – Fine dining Restaurant – Waterfall, Midrand
We are seeking a skilled À La Carte Sous-Chef for our busy upmarket restaurant. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver an exceptional dining experience, focusing on creativity, quality, and consistency in every dish. This role is ideal for a chef passionate about crafting unique à la carte meals and committed to upholding high culinary standards in a fast-paced environment.
Description:
- Food Preparation & Presentation: Assist in preparing and presenting à la carte dishes to exacting standards, ensuring consistency in taste and appearance.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and refine the à la carte menu, introducing seasonal and innovative offerings.
- Quality Control: Oversee food quality, taste, and portion control, maintaining our restaurant’s reputation for excellence.
- Kitchen Management: Supervise and support the kitchen team during service, ensuring smooth, efficient operations.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role within an upmarket, high-volume restaurant.
- Skills: Strong culinary skills in à la carte service, creative flair, time management, and leadership capabilities.
- Attributes: Attention to detail, a passion for food, resilience under pressure, and a commitment to continuous learning
