Sous Chef – 5* Luxury Lodge – Western Cape

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join their team at a prestigious game reserve. Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food is consistently produced and presented to guests.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Chef de Cuisine with menu planning and execution
Supervise kitchen staff and manage their workload
Maintain kitchen operations in compliance with health and safety regulations
Assist with inventory and ordering of kitchen supplies and ingredients
Monitor food costs and assist with ensuring profitability
Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely and efficient manner
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
Culinary degree or equivalent experience
Strong culinary skills and knowledge of international cuisine
Experience in managing and supervising kitchen staff
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
