Senior Sous Chef – Top Restaurant – Stellenbosch

Our client in Stellenbosch is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join their kitchen brigade. The Senior Sous Chef will play a key role in leading the kitchen team, ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, and maintaining the high standards of food quality and service.

Description:

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to restaurant standards and recipes, consistently delivering high-quality cuisine.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed and minimizing waste.
  • Assist in menu development and contribute creative ideas for new dishes and specials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to hygiene and safety standards at all times.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and cost control.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of diverse cuisines and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative flair and a passion for food and gastronomy.
