Our client, a prestigious luxury resort in Zanzibar, is seeking an experienced Reservations Manager to oversee their reservations department. This live-in position offers a competitive salary of $1200 – $1800 net per month, with 1.5 days off per week and 28 days of paid annual leave each May after one year of service. The successful candidate will start in October or November and will bring a strong background in hospitality reservations management.

Description:

In your role as Reservations Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient management of the reservations department, ensuring seamless guest booking experiences and coordination across departments. You will handle reservations, optimize room occupancy, and maintain accurate records, all while leading and mentoring your team to deliver outstanding service. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.

• Oversee the reservations department, ensuring all bookings are processed efficiently and accurately.
• Respond to guest inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms promptly and professionally.
• Optimize room occupancy and revenue through effective management of booking channels and pricing strategies.
• Maintain and manage accurate records of reservations, guest preferences, and special requests.
• Train, lead, and support the reservations team to uphold high standards of service.
• Collaborate with the front office, sales, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.
• Monitor and analyze reservation trends to identify opportunities for improvement and revenue growth.
• Address and resolve any guest issues or complaints related to reservations in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Reservations Manager or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Proficiency in reservations systems and hotel management software.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• A passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
• Flexibility and willingness to live on-site in Zanzibar.
