Reservations Manager – Luxury Travel Brand – Maun, Botswana

Our client, a luxury travel brand, is looking for a Reservations Manager. To be successful you need to have knowledge of at least one reservation system preferably Panstrat, in-depth geographical knowledge of Botswana and Southern African and previous management and/or supervisory experience in a dynamic environment.

KEY OUTPUTS:

Guests and Suppliers

Communication with all relevant parties (travel consultants, suppliers, guests and lodges)
Be on call for any major emergencies and immediately alert the Regional Manager
Constantly re-evaluating internal processes, eliminating any re-work to ensure the smooth, effective, and efficient functioning of the teams
Actively work at improving information flow to suppliers, guests (internal) and suppliers
Continuously striving to ensure that relationships with guests, consultants, suppliers, sales teams and all Lodges remain strong, open, and transparent
Ensuring that there is always someone available at the switchboard
Assisting consultants in advising clients on all product related queries
Managing all reservations queries and issues, accurately, efficiently and timeously
Managing guest relationships and personally always ensuring the highest client service delivery
From time to time be available to meet with international clients, host dinners, site inspection and/or host educational and attend trade shows

People

Managing the reservation team (2 employees)
Manage staff and lead by example
Empowerment, training, motivating and performance conversations in conjunction with your team leaders
Ensuring that daily schedule and day sheets are done effectively, and times are sent to camps timeously
Promote teamwork within the internal teams with focus on other reservations teams
Stay connected with all suppliers
Oversee and continuously ensure that the reservations team is trained, informed and kept up to date with the latest product information, product offerings, 3rd party specials, Lodge updates and Lodge offers
This includes all the latest system updates and “how to” information
Manage team leave schedules and working hour rosters including weekend rosters
Responsible for HATAB bookings
Hands on management and checking of VIP files to ensure all quality control measures and smooth operation of the itinerary pre trip and during trip

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

* 4 – 5 years of management or supervisory experience in the hospitality/tourism industry (reservations) Tourism/Hospitality experience

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Understanding of travel industry channels
Excellent computer skills including: MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Understanding and knowledge of the different markets in which the brand operates in
