Receptionist – Prestigious Wine Estate and Hotel – Western Cape
Our client, a prestigious and renowned 5-star luxury hotel and vineyard situated in the breathtaking Western Cape winelands, is currently seeking a superb Receptionist to balance out their exceptional team. With a rich history spanning over centuries, the estate offers an exquisite blend of heritage, elegance, and modernity. The estate is not only known for its award-winning wines but also for its world-class hospitality and exceptional guest experiences.
Our client is seeking a professional and courteous Receptionist to be the welcoming face and first point of contact for their esteemed guests. As the Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in providing outstanding customer service, creating a positive impression, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the hotel’s front desk operations.
This position demands a passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to handle diverse tasks with poise and efficiency. Due to the intimate nature of the property, your role will encompass reception, switchboard and concierge.
1. Warmly greet and welcome guests, ensuring a friendly and professional demeanour at all times.
2. Handle check-ins and check-outs promptly and accurately, maintaining an organized record of guest details and reservations.
3. Provide essential information about the hotel facilities, amenities, and services to guests, as well as activities available on the property and in the surrounding area, ensuring they have a pleasant stay.
4. Efficiently handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, resolving issues or escalating them to appropriate departments when necessary.
5. Maintain the reservation system, ensuring accuracy and updating it regularly with guest details and preferences.
6. Answer incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate departments, and take messages when needed.
7. Assist in coordinating guests’ transportation, including airport transfers and local transportation arrangements.
8. Handle financial transactions, including processing payments, invoicing, and managing cash transactions in compliance with established procedures.
9. Ensure the lobby and front desk area are tidy, organized, and visually appealing, reflecting the property’s standard of excellence.
10. Collaborate closely with other hotel departments, including housekeeping and concierge, to ensure a seamless guest experience.
11. Handle administrative tasks such as filing, sorting mail, and maintaining office supplies.
12. Uphold confidentiality and data protection principles when dealing with sensitive guest information.
Very NB! Experience with Protel Air or Opera
1. Proven experience as a Receptionist or in a similar front desk role, preferably within the 5* hospitality industry. Strong Guest Relations skills are a must.
2. Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Proficiency in additional languages will be advantageous.
3. A warm, welcoming, confident and customer-focused attitude with the ability to remain composed under pressure.
4. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.
5. Familiarity with reservation software and basic computer applications.
6. Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
7. Professional appearance and demeanour, reflecting the property’s brand values.
8. A genuine interest in wine, local attractions, and the Western Cape region will be a plus.
9. A valid driver’s licence
If you meet the above requirements and live in the Stellenbosch, Strand, Durbanville or Bellville area, this role is particularly suited to you. Transport is provided to/from some areas.
