A luxury 5-star lodge nestled in the beautiful Soutpansberg region of Limpopo, South Africa, is seeking an experienced and passionate Ranger to join its guiding team. If you have a love for wildlife, conservation, and delivering exceptional guest experiences, this is your opportunity to work in a stunning location and contribute to meaningful conservation efforts.

Description:

As a Ranger at our clients luxury lodge, you will play a vital role in delivering unforgettable guest experiences that connect them deeply with nature and the surrounding environment. Working closely with a small, dedicated guiding team, you will assist the Head Guide in conducting daily game drives, bush walks, and even aerial safaris. You will also be responsible for guest education, wildlife identification, and ensuring the safety and comfort of guests throughout their stay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet guests upon arrival and ensure a seamless start to their safari experience.
  • Conduct game drives and bush walks, providing informative and engaging commentary on the local wildlife, flora, and fauna.
  • Lead aerial safaris using our innovative solar-powered aerial safari system.
  • Assist guests with wildlife identification and provide educational insights into local ecosystems and conservation efforts.
  • Ensure guest safety and security during all safari activities by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain and clean safari vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in top condition for guest use.
  • Collaborate with the Head Guide and the lodge team to provide personalized guest experiences.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • FGASA Level 1 or 2 qualification.
  • Previous experience in guiding or wildlife tracking, with a strong understanding of local flora and fauna.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests from around the world.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in challenging outdoor conditions.

Compensation:
Compensation is competitive and based on experience. The role includes lodging and meals during your time at camp. Given the lodge’s remote location, staff work on a rotational basis, likely 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off, as determined by leadership.

What We Offer:

  • A unique opportunity to pioneer new guest experiences in the African bush, including the first aerial safari experience on the continent.
  • The chance to work in a breathtaking location and actively contribute to wildlife conservation efforts in a newly protected area.
  • A dynamic and professional work environment with a passionate team committed to conservation and hospitality.
  • The opportunity to create unforgettable experiences for discerning guests from around the world.
