Payroll Administrator – Leading Hospitality Group – Durban

Our client, a leading hospitality group, is seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator to join their head office team in central Durban. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll management, with proficiency in Sage and Pastel, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a large team.

Description:

As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the entire payroll process for the company’s various properties and employees. This includes ensuring accurate data entry, processing payroll on Sage and Pastel, handling employee inquiries, and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation.

You will also be responsible for managing deductions, processing leave, and calculating overtime. Attention to detail and a thorough understanding of payroll processes are essential for this role, as you will play a critical part in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process payroll for all employees using Sage and Pastel.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Process deductions, benefits, leave, and overtime calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and labor regulations.
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits as required.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data is up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure smooth payroll operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator, preferably within a hospitality or large-scale organization.
  • Proficiency in Sage and Pastel payroll systems is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and labor laws.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
