Operations Manager – Multifaceted Business – Pongola

Location: Pongola, South Africa

Join our client’s team as an Operations Manager, where you will serve as the right hand and Second-in-Command (2IC) to our client, overseeing 10 diverse businesses including franchise outlets, a filling station, and a transportation company. Description:

As the Operations Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our client’s business operations, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency across all business units. Your role will be pivotal in driving operational excellence, strategic planning, and overall business performance. You will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily operations across all 10 businesses to ensure they run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitoring financial performance and identifying areas for improvement to achieve business objectives.
  • Leading and motivating a diverse team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Acting as a strategic partner to the business owner, providing insights and recommendations for growth and expansion.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and maintaining high standards of quality and service.
  • Managing resources effectively, including budgeting, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Addressing operational issues promptly and implementing effective solutions.
  • Representing the business in meetings and negotiations with suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders.

  • Proven experience in an operations management role, preferably within a multi-business environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach with a high level of ownership and accountability.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be fluent in Afrikaans.
