Operations Manager – Luxury Island Resort – Zanzibar
Our client, a prestigious hospitality establishment in Zanzibar, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to join their luxury island resort team. As the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the resort, while upholding the highest standards of guest satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our client’s operations in a stunning island setting.
Description:
As the Operations Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring adherence to uniform and personal hygiene standards at all times.
- Greeting and interacting with guests and staff in a friendly and considerate manner.
- Maintaining open lines of communication with all staff members.
- Supporting senior management in overseeing the effective management and running of the resort.
- Assisting in the training and development of staff as necessary.
- Collaborating with the management team to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Placing daily operational orders in a timely and budget-sensitive manner, and delegating tasks as necessary.
- Participating in the management, implementation, and updating of the lodge’s FBC (Food, Beverage, and Conservation) to-do lists.
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s Golden Thread and Brand Standards throughout the resort’s daily functioning.
- Managing administrative functions within the resort and monitoring beverage control.
- Facilitating guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring guest rooms and areas are neat at all times.
- Overseeing all food and beverage aspects of the lodge to ensure they meet company standards.
- Managing day-to-day guest itineraries and activities, ensuring guest delights happen daily through effective communication between departments.
- Leading green team and conservation initiatives on the island.
- Assisting with social media and PR-related communication.
- Ensuring staff delight activities, including staff swaps, are managed effectively.
- Maintaining flexible work hours and attending management meetings as required.
- Upholding company standards within the resort and communicating regularly and effectively with staff and other departments.
Requirements:
- Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management.
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar role.
- Computer literate.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
