As a Lodge Manager for our client, one can experience the unique opportunity to work and live in secluded natural wildlife locations of Southern Tanzania.

Embark on a unique opportunity as a Lodge Manager at our client’s secluded Safari Lodge in Southern Tanzania. Beyond hosting international visitors, we seek a savvy and organized individual to proactively maintain and enhance lodge/camp standards through effective management:

A key responsibility is to maintain the smooth operation of their remote safari camps in Southern Tanzania. Past successful managers have been those who thrive in the isolated African bush environment, have an eye for detail, are creative problem solvers and are good communicators.

Description:

Staff and Staff Training: Nurture a team culture through training and leadership.

Strict Stock Control: Ensure precise inventory management.

Overseeing Building/Maintenance Work: Manage construction and maintenance projects.

Activities Organisation: Coordinate and enhance guest activities.

Finances: Administer orders, maintain stock control, and oversee financial aspects.

Lodge Standards: Ensure the highest quality of housekeeping and maintenance.

Guest Relations: Maximise personalised experiences for guests.

Relationships:

Frequent communication with Company Director, Operations Manager, and Purchasing Manager.

Attributes:

Strong relationship builder.

Comfortable with change.

Works well under pressure.

Highly self-motivated and self-directed.

A quick learner.

Skills and Experience:

Financial management abilities.

Fluent English; a second language is preferable.

Good computer literacy.

Excellent management and communication skills.

Developmental approach to staff.

Assertiveness, patience, and good organisational skills.

Requirements:

• University degree or diploma

• Fluent English

• At least 2 years’ experience managing safari camps/lodges

Skills Required:

• At least 2 years of experience managing safari camps/lodges

• Preferably experience in Tanzania or East Africa

• Financial management abilities

• Fluent English, a second language preferable

• Good computer literacy

• Excellent management and communication skills

• A developmental approach to staff

• Assertiveness, patience and good organisational skills
