Lodge Manager – Luxury Lodge – Botswana

Description:
- Oversee day-to-day lodge operations, ensuring seamless coordination between various departments.
- Maintain the highest standards of service delivery, from guest arrival to departure.
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of hospitality professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance staff skills and uphold service standards.
- Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by anticipating and addressing their needs promptly and courteously.
- Manage and resolve guest concerns effectively, maintaining the lodge’s reputation for excellence.
- Work closely with the finance team to manage budgets, control costs, and maximise revenue opportunities.
- Implement strategies to achieve financial goals while maintaining service quality.
- Support and promote sustainable and eco-friendly practices within the lodge operations.
- Collaborate with local conservation initiatives to contribute to the protection of the Okavango Delta’s unique ecosystem.
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and take proactive measures to mitigate potential issues.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the luxury hospitality industry, preferably in a safari lodge or remote location.
- Strong background in guest service and staff management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and make sound decisions.
- Comfortable working in a remote and dynamic environment, with the flexibility to handle various responsibilities.
- Genuine interest in wildlife conservation and sustainable tourism practices.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages such as Setswana would be advantageous.
