Lodge Management Couple – Luxury Lodge – Limpopo
Our client, a prestigious operator in the luxury safari lodge industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lodge Management Couple to oversee the operations of an exclusive 8-room lodge and 4-room villa in Limpopo. Description:
As the Lodge Management Couple, you will be the driving force behind the successful day-to-day operation of a high-end lodge. This live-in role requires a proactive and hands-on approach, with a focus on guest satisfaction, team management, and maintaining the highest standards of service. You will work closely together to ensure that all aspects of the lodge run smoothly, from guest relations and operational logistics to health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead and motivate the operational team to uphold the lodge’s core values and ensure consistent delivery of exceptional guest service.
- Effective Communication: Maintain clear and open communication within the team and with management to ensure seamless operations.
- Exceptional Guest Experience: Uphold and deliver high standards to create memorable experiences for each guest.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Oversee all security, health, and safety protocols, ensuring adherence to company procedures.
- Budget Management: Collaborate with management to implement and manage budgetary controls and systems.
- Strategic Planning: Anticipate and plan for smooth lodge operations, coordinating effectively with support departments.
- Maintenance and Operational Support: Ensure the lodge’s facilities and back-of-house areas are well-maintained and operational at all times.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Address and resolve any challenges promptly, maintaining a high level of service even in a remote setting.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in high-end safari lodge management.
- Professional Demeanour: Mature, well-presented, and professional at all times.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Passion for Nature: A keen interest in the natural environment and activities relevant to the lodge’s location.
- Transport and Licensing: Must have own transport and a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of Food and Wine: A good understanding of wine pairing and gourmet food services.
- Guest and Staff Relations: Exceptional interpersonal skills with both guests and staff.
- Adaptability: Ability to multitask, adapt to evolving business needs, and think on your feet.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management abilities with a high focus on attention to detail.
- Maintenance Oversight: Experience in overseeing maintenance and ensuring high standards of lodge upkeep.
- Eligibility: Must be a South African citizen or possess a valid work permit
