Interior Decorator and Stylist – Hotel Group Head Office based – Cape Town

The primary objective of this position is to support facilities and operations by providing on-trend, on-brand, and environmentally friendly aesthetic and decorating services, procurement, and advice. The role requires a hands-on approach to all allocated projects and briefs, demanding a keen eye for design, styling ability, and the capability to work under tight timelines.

Description:

Main Functions

– Administer and maintain interior and design manuals and guidelines.
– Source new suppliers and products, maintaining detailed product and supplier information.
– Build relationships with current suppliers, suggesting enhancements where necessary.
– Provide physical and administrative support for interior/styling briefs and projects.
– Create detailed hand-backs, handovers, and related documentation.
– Conceptualize and draft plans and mood boards, implementing them as needed.
– Ensure all décor/interior changes are communicated to relevant parties and marketing channels.
– Brief all relevant parties/suppliers on requirements and ensure deadlines and aesthetic standards are met.

Aesthetic Duties
– Evaluate and enhance the sensory experiences of properties, implementing changes as needed.
– Regularly visit properties, making and following up on suggestions for improvements.
– Assist senior management with interior briefs from inception to execution and handover.
– Oversee and traffic manage all décor/styling-related briefs, ensuring annual interior maintenance programs are facilitated.
– Liaise with designers and suppliers to meet project deadlines.

Office Management
– Assist with basic office tasks such as meeting arrangements, taking minutes, and assisting visitors.
– Create and maintain an inspiring workspace for employees.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in interior decorating and styling is beneficial
  • Portfolio of interior work is beneficial
  • Project management experience is beneficial.
  • Highly creative, imaginative, and artistic.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially regarding artistic vision.
  • Strong work ethic, focus on quality, innovative mindset, and ambition for career development.
