HVAC Technician/General Worker – Luxury Estate – Stellenbosch

My client is seeking a reliable and skilled HVAC Technician/General Worker to join their maintenance team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration and air conditioning systems, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have technical qualifications, hands-on experience, and a commitment to high-quality service.

Description:

As an HVAC Technician/General Worker, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment. Your duties will include working on freezer rooms, ice machines, and display fridges, performing routine services, identifying maintenance risks, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults. Maintaining daily logs and records of all maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Work on freezer rooms, ice machines, and display fridges.
  • Perform routine services on ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
  • Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance services.
  • Ensure compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Requirements:

  • HVAC technical qualifications (air-conditioning technician) / HVAC certification.
  • Preferably 2 years of previous experience.
  • Proficiency in brazing and soldering.
  • Experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pumps repairs, installations, fault finding, maintenance, and servicing.
  • Proficient with manual and power tools.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Reliable and self-motivated.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments.
  • Well-presented.
  • Flexibility and accountability in job duties.
