Hotel Accountant – Luxury Hotel – Cape Town seaboard
Beautiful luxury venue on the Atlantic Seaboard is looking for an experienced Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Your responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyse financial reports and forecasts. Your duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.
MUST HAVE Requirements::
B Com in financial filed, hospitality background
2 to 3 Years with relevant financial software, PMS
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent Verbal & Written communication skills
Deadline Oriented
Willingness to work necessary hours to get the job done
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Organised
Attention to Detail
Responsibilities:
Capturing of all Month-end Journals
Loan accounts captured and reconciled
Capturing of Project Management
Monthly stock takes
Preparation of cost reports for Food, Beverage and Consumables
Reconciling invoices to purchase orders
Preparing of Income Statements
Compiling statistics
Upkeep of an Audit File
Daily banking, including reconciling with Opera
Balance sheet recons
Assist with budgets
Meeting deadlines
Checking Petty Cash regularly
Checking all credit card and cash recons of Front Desk regularly
Do pit checks ensuring all necessary documentation are in order
Ensuring all financial procedures are followed by staff
Duty Management shifts to assist hotel operational management
Monthly reconciliation of leave balances
