Head Chef – Luxury Lodge – Limpopo
A premier luxury lodge located in a pristine natural setting is in search of an accomplished Head Chef with a strong background in fine dining. The ideal candidate will lead a dedicated culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences for up to 40 guests. Proficiency in computer skills for tasks such as stock management, menu design, and food cost analysis is crucial. This role requires a team-oriented individual with a passion for working with seasonal fresh produce, and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards.
Description:
- Lead and inspire the culinary team to provide high-quality fine dining experiences.
- Create innovative and seasonal menus aligned with the lodge’s culinary vision and guest expectations.
- Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction through outstanding food quality, presentation, and service.
- Utilize strong computer skills for efficient stock management, minimizing waste, and optimizing cost-effectiveness.
- Implement strategies to monitor and control food costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Foster a collaborative and positive working environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a fine dining culinary environment, demonstrating a high level of culinary skill and creativity.
- Proficiency in computer applications for stock take, menu design, and food cost analysis.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and service teams to achieve common goals.
- Own vehicle is beneficial but not required.
- Genuine passion for working with seasonal, fresh produce to create diverse and appealing menus.
- Physical fitness and overall health to meet the demands of a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Willingness to work on a 3-week on, 1-week off schedule, with 21 days of annual leave.
- Eligibility for the provident fund after the probationary period.
