Head Chef – Fine-Dining Farm-to-Fork Restaurant – Magaliesburg

Our client, a fine-dining restaurant nestled in the serene Magaliesburg, is seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef. This unique establishment operates Monday to Thursday with occasional weekend functions, offering a tranquil work environment. The position is live-in, providing an immersive experience in the beautiful Magaliesburg region, renowned for its stunning landscapes and wildlife.


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead the culinary operations of our client’s fine-dining restaurant. This role demands a hands-on, strict professional capable of managing a small team, maintaining high culinary standards, and embracing the farm-to-fork concept. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating exquisite dishes using locally sourced ingredients, reflecting the natural beauty and bounty of the Magaliesburg area.


  • Oversee the daily operations of the fine-dining restaurant, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation
  • Develop and design seasonal menus that emphasise farm-to-fork principles, using fresh, local ingredients
  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain relationships with local farmers and suppliers
  • Handle guest feedback with professionalism and strive to exceed guest expectations
  • Plan and execute special functions and events, working weekends as required
  • Maintain budgetary control, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality



  • Proven experience as a Head Chef in a fine-dining or upscale restaurant environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Expertise in farm-to-fork cuisine and a passion for sustainable, locally sourced ingredients
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional culinary skills and creativity
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a dynamic environment
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Hands-on approach with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to guest satisfaction
