A premier boutique beach resort in Zanzibar is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead their culinary team. This is an immediate start position offering a competitive salary of $2000 – $2500 per month, inclusive of accommodation, meals, and one return flight per annum.

Description:

As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You will lead a dedicated team, create innovative menus, and maintain an exceptional dining experience for guests. Your creativity and passion for culinary arts will drive the resort’s reputation for outstanding cuisine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the kitchen team, including training and development.
• Develop and design innovative menus that reflect the resort’s standards and guest preferences.
• Ensure the highest standards of food quality, preparation, and presentation.
• Monitor and manage food costs, inventory, and procurement.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Handle guest feedback and continuously improve the dining experience

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional culinary skills with a creative flair for menu design.
• Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Formal culinary training or equivalent experience is preferred.
