Description:

  • Run and supervise the entire kitchen operation for the Lodge.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to maintain standards and goals.
  • Ensure adherence to menus and maintain excellent food standards.
  • Support chefs in daily supplies ordering and training.
  • Implement Chef Academy training program.
  • Monitor dishes and engage with guests at each meal.
  • Provide continuous training and encouragement to staff.
  • Accommodate unusual dietary requirements and manage operational budgets.
  • Implement stringent cleaning measures.
  • Attend weekly kitchen meetings to ensure effective communication.
  • Continuously train and motivate all kitchen staff.
  • Ensure clear understanding of staff responsibilities.
  • Maintain good communication with all chefs, management, and suppliers.
  • Implement standards and staff policies with Executive Chef and General Manager.

Requirements:

  • Formal Chef Qualification.
  • Minimum 5+ years Chef Experience in 5-star hotels or lodges.
  • International exposure is a plus.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to cost menus.
  • Passion for food and the food experience.
  • Effective team leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Creative problem-solving within a team.
  • Good knowledge of hospitality operations.
  • Patience and attention to detail.
  • Passion for training staff and creating exceptional food.
  • Good interpersonal skills and sense of urgency.
  • Commitment to guest delight and self-motivation.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and adaptability to cultural differences.
