Join our client’s team as the Head Chef of a prestigious 4-star hotel in the picturesque town of Knysna. As the culinary maestro, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering an exceptional dining experience for our client’s guests. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and lead a dynamic kitchen team.

Description:

As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety. Your creativity will be key in designing menus that reflect both international trends and local flavours, enhancing the hotel’s reputation as a culinary destination.

Salary: R28,000 CTC (Cost to Company), live-out arrangement.

Start Date: ASAP, with full service and offerings commencing on December 1st.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement innovative menus in line with the hotel’s standards and guest preferences.
• Lead, inspire, and mentor the kitchen team to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Ensure efficient procurement, storage, and preparation of food to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
• Collaborate with other departments to create a seamless and memorable guest experience.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and uphold sanitation standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-quality hotel or restaurant.
• Culinary degree or relevant qualification.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• A passion for culinary excellence and a keen understanding of current food trends.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage a diverse team effectively.
