Our client, a prestigious 4-star hotel, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Chef to lead their culinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your creativity and expertise to a well-established establishment. The position offers a competitive salary of R27,000 and requires an immediate start.

Description: As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing the kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. You will oversee menu planning, inventory management, and staff training, while maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment. Your culinary skills and leadership will be key to delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design innovative menus that align with the hotel’s standards and guest preferences.
  • Manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor and control inventory, ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock levels.
  • Oversee cost control and budget management to achieve financial targets.
  • Collaborate with management to plan and execute special events and functions.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.

Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a 4-star or higher establishment.
  • Culinary degree or relevant qualification.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to create and implement innovative and appealing menus.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Immediate availability is required.
