General Manager – Luxury Backpackers – Cape Town
Are you an entrepreneurial and motivated leader with a passion for creating extraordinary experiences? Look no further! We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to oversee our client’s Luxury Backpackers.
As the General Manager, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the seamless day-to-day operations of our clients site, with a relentless focus on delivering unparalleled customer experiences and maximizing return on investment. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Foster a positive environment for guests, employees, and the community.
Oversee the implementation of curated experiences and programming for guests.
Be present at the location to support the team in providing an exceptional guest experience.
Supervise all product areas, optimising opportunities in Front of House, Back of House, F&B, and Experiences.
Ensure proper stocking of supplies and equipment.
Finance & Accounting:
Improve profitability by sourcing suppliers and ensuring optimal profit margins.
Provide monthly reports detailing site revenue and expenses.
Implement effective stock control procedures.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and practices.
Report and address any issues that may disrupt business operations.
Lead recruitment and selection processes for open positions.
Conduct training to enhance team levels of service and experience.
Manage payroll efficiently.
Collaborate with the Operations Team to optimize accommodation rates.
Enhance revenue streams in accommodation, Food and Beverage, and Experiences.
Monitor and maintain lean expenses.
Build connections with the local community to increase sales opportunities.
Generate local and global partnerships to promote the hotel.
Develop and execute the location’s marketing plan while adhering to brand guidelines.
What You Can Expect:

Prior experience in hotel management.
Strong financial management skills.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Experience working in multicultural environments.
Understanding of processes and operational efficiency.
Strong people management and negotiation skills.
Proficient in reporting and analysing information for decision-making.
