General Manager – Boutique Hotel Resort – Eastern Cape
The GM of the property should have a good understanding of finances as they will be running their business and will be expected to purchase their own supplies, control petty cash, timesheets, revenue, etc.
Expectations
Ideally, the successful incumbent will similarly have strong people skills in order to drive weekday trade to this destination getaway by way of attracting corporate and government trade in addition to the private travellers
We do not have a large staff complement and all staff are employed as general workers as they need to jump in where needed, the same would apply for the GM’s. These positions will not suit a person who wants to sit in a fancy office in a suit and drink coffee all day. If the grass needs cutting, then they need to do this.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and managing the daily operation of the business.
They will be responsible for maintaining the standard of work from employees as well as onboarding and hiring new team members.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction to a team of people – Manage operations and finances of business – Recruit and train new hires on business practices – Drive development of employees – Ensure that quality of work or service is maintained Qualifications – Management, and Customer Service experience Strong administrative skills – Demonstrated ability to lead – Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue, and forecasting – Strong communications skills
