Developing Game Reserve in Limpopo is seeking a highly experienced Game Reserve Manager with hunting and breeding experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the game breeding industry.
A minimum of 10 years proven experience in a managerial position, managing breeding programmes of buffalo and sable.
Experience in managing and dealing with common game species.
Commercial ability to run game as a profitable business unit.
10 to 15 years’ experience as a Professional hunter with current PH status.
Show significant knowledge of the inner workings of the Game Industry
5 years’ experience in tourism and hospitality
Firearms training and Competency is a must
Key Areas of responsibility
Animals and animal breeding programmes
Managing and administering the Company’s breeding program.
Selling and buying of animals
Constant monitoring of animal and their condition
Managing of animal feeding programs
Hunting and tourism
The candidate will have to manage and oversee all hunting on the property
The candidate will have to assist in the hospitality side of the business during walks and game drives
The candidate will be expected to formulate and execute plans for the maintenance and management of the following aspects of the wider reserve:
Infrastructure including water distribution, fences, roads, airstrip, bridges, gabions, buildings, and electrical infrastructure.
Management of the wider ecology of the reserve through game management and monitoring.
Manage all the administrative aspects of the reserve including human resource management, administrative and recordkeeping and financial budgeting.
Vehicles and Equipment
Management of all vehicle and equipment through the establishment of norms of use, repair, and management.
Ensuring that relevant records are kept including use, repair, running and driver records.
Assigning of tasks to and monitoring of all drivers and machine operators.
