We are looking for a competent and experienced Farm Management couple to manage our Game and Cattle farm and work at the established five star lodge as needed.
They will be required to provide full lodge management, guiding, hosting as well as farm management, lodge administration, and tourism tasks and activities as part of the general management team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Farm management – Cattle & Game
Management of camps – Game and Cattle
Feeding, stock control of feed and purchasing of feed Administering medication, monitoring the herd for signs of illness Assisting with calving
Marketing and transport of sales stock Identification of sales stock
Head guide hunting and oversee other guides
To plan, prioritise and carry out lodge management and guiding duties at the lodge and other camps when necessary, Eco tourism
Head guide hunting Nature conservation
Responsible for 33 Farm employees Schedule employee shifts Timesheet management
Address employee concerns
Oversee the day to day activities on the farm and Lodge. Interview and hire applicants.
Monitor and control all staff welfare issues. Enforcing all company policy and procedures. Staff management, training and development.
Management of guest delight activities Management of guest experience
Overall hospitality and food and beverage management
Overseeing general appearance and management of maintenance issues Drive community development projects
Understand & manage budgets Housekeeping management
Ensure a 5 star experience at all times.
Management, control and streamlining hotel occupancy and related strategies to increase revenue. Related administration and month end data functions
Desired Experience & Qualification
Agricultural Diploma/Degree required
Min of 5 years previous lifestock farming experience Previous feedlot experience
Knowledge of artificial insemination advantegous Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge or experience in running a camp as well as previous experience in the hospitality industry Valid drivers licence
Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in a similar remote environment Attention to detail
Full trails/Head guide experience
Previous experience at Management Level within a 5* luxury environment will be an advantage Flexibility and ability to work long hours and shifts.
Service excellence (desire to enhance Guest Experience)
A National Diploma in Tourism Management or equivalent.
Lodge Management background and knowledge of the lodge business is preferable. Computer skills (MS Office suite – excell/word/Bengufarm)
Marketing background will be an advantage Enthusiasm, passion and energy
