Description:

Position 1: Accountant/Operations Manager

Financial Management:

  • Manage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and adherence to local regulations.
  • Provide precise financial forecasting and strategic long-term planning.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Offer financial insights and recommendations to enhance business performance and profitability.
  • Oversee QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial records.
  • Collaborate with a small, experienced accounting team to maintain a supportive work environment.

Operations/Office Management:

  • Supervise procurement, logistics, and daily office operations to align with financial goals.
  • Ensure high service standards and operational efficiency across all safari lodges.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve office operations and administrative processes.

Position 2: Accommodation Manager/Reservations Consultant

Guesthouse Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the guest accommodation in Lilongwe, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
  • Manage staff and resources to uphold high service and cleanliness standards.
  • Handle guest check-ins, check-outs, and address any guest needs or concerns promptly.

Reservations Consultant:

  • Manage safari lodge reservations, coordinating with the central reservations team and maintaining accurate booking records.
  • Address guest inquiries and provide detailed information about safari experiences and accommodations.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, ensuring exceptional service from initial contact to post-visit follow-up.

Hosting:

  • Occasionally host guests, ensuring a memorable and personalized experience.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in financial management, including proficiency with accounting software like QuickBooks.
  • Proven skills in financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Previous experience in Africa with an understanding of remote, bush living.
  • Hands-on, adaptable approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  • Strong English communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license and comfort with remote settings.
