Commis Chef – Award Winning Restaurant – Stellenbosch

Description:
- Prepare ingredients and assist the chef with any tasks as needed
- Ensure the preparation of all food items according to recipes and standards
- Assist with deliveries and maintain proper rotation of products
- Conduct daily checks of all mis-en-place to ensure freshness and quality standards
- Have comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, daily features, and promotions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Adhere to kitchen procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
Requirements:
- Culinary diploma/certificate
- Preferably 1-2 years of previous experience as a Commis Chef in 5-star restaurants
- Availability to work within opening hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality
- Productive and efficient work ethic
- Self-disciplined with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility and accountability are essential traits for success in this role.
