Our client is seeking a hard-working and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join their fast-paced kitchen in the Soutpansberg, Limpopo, South Africa.

Description:

Are you passionate about food and eager to learn? Our client is looking for a dedicated Commis Chef to assist in all sections of the kitchen. You will work closely with a Chef De Partie, learning from and supporting them in daily tasks to ensure smooth service operations. This role includes maintaining kitchen cleanliness, deep cleaning and organising food storage areas, and ensuring food quality, safety, and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Chef De Partie in daily kitchen operations
• Keep the kitchen clean before, during, and after services
• Wash, chop, and clean food products for kitchen use
• Monitor and ensure the safe operation of kitchen appliances and equipment
• Follow recipes strictly and accurately
• Help wherever needed in daily operations

Requirements:

• Matric with minimum English and Math literacy
• Diploma in food preparation and culinary arts
• 0-1 year experience in a high-end dining kitchen (including as a student)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to follow instructions accurately
• Passion for high-quality food products
• Physical ability to stand, move, and carry objects for long hours
• Ability to handle pressure
• High energy levels and eagerness to learn
