Camp Manager – Luxury Lodge – Kwazulu Natal
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Camp Manager for a luxury lodge for our client in Kwazulu Natal. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality management, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences. This is a permanent live-in position.
Description:
As a Camp Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our client’s camp, ensuring that every guest enjoys a memorable and delightful stay. You will be responsible for managing stock control, bar service, guest activities, and overall hospitality. You will also handle the maintenance of the camp’s appearance, drive community development projects, and manage reservations and bookings. Your leadership will inspire and develop the staff, and your financial acumen will ensure the camp’s budgets and finances are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage stock control and orders
- Oversee bar service and control
- Coordinate guest delight activities and ensure exceptional guest experiences
- Maintain high standards of hospitality and food service
- Oversee general appearance and manage maintenance issues
- Develop staff skills and drive community development projects
- Understand and manage budgets, GP’s, and finances
- Knowledge and understanding of PAN Strat
- Manage all reservations and bookings
Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Experience in running a camp or similar hospitality management role
- Hotel Management Degree or equivalent is beneficial
- Relevant qualifications are advantageous
- Valid, unendorsed South African driver’s license
Skills:
- Strong management skills
- Front office experience
- Good knowledge of food and wine
Previous Work Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in running a lodge or camp is beneficial
