Bartender – Farm Stall Restaurant – N7 Philadelphia, Cape Town

We are currently seeking a talented and creative individual to join our client’s team as a Bartender that would like to make their mark in an exciting new farm stall / retail and Restaurant venture located on the N7 in Philadelphia, approximately 38km from CBD, 24km from Table View / Milnerton in Cape Town, South Africa.

This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a pre-opening team and contribute to the beverage excellence of our client’s restaurant

As a Bartender you will be responsible for verifying age requirements, knowing alcohol pairing and tastes, knowing how to make traditional and classy drinks, processing payments, managing inventory and cleaning bar supplies. Work directly with customers by mixing and serving drink orders. Ensure food and beverage compliance, restock bar inventory, decide menu items and manage the overall bar operations.

Note: this position’s compensation includes salary and tips. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent drinking experience for our guests. You should also be able to work various shifts.

Responsibilities:

Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant patrons.
Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks.
Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails.
Plan and present bar menu.
Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
Comply with all food and beverage regulations.

Requirements and skills:

High school diploma; relevant training is a plus
Flexibility to work various shifts
Resume and proven 2 years working experience as a Bartender
Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
Computer literacy
Knowledge of a second language is a plus
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
Knowledge of sanitation regulations
