Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Bar Manager to oversee the bar operations at their prestigious fine dining restaurant in Johannesburg, Gauteng. This immediate-start role requires strong leadership in bar management and mixology, ensuring efficient resource use, high service standards, and exceptional customer experiences.

As Bar Manager, you will oversee all aspects of bar operations at an ultra-luxury fine dining restaurant in Johannesburg. This pivotal role requires a dedicated leader with a strong commitment to maintaining exceptional service standards, ensuring guest satisfaction, and achieving operational excellence. The Bar Manager will play a crucial role in upholding the restaurant’s reputation and contributing to its success from the outset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring efficiency and high service standards.
• Monitor costs to achieve profit margins (GP%) and minimise expenses.
• Conduct regular stock takes, manage variances, and maintain optimal stock levels.
• Ensure cleanliness and organisation of all bar areas.
• Manage staff scheduling and operational procedures.
• Train and develop bar staff, including onboarding new hires.
• Enforce security protocols and oversee cash handling procedures.
• Maintain high service standards for exceptional customer experiences.
• Collaborate on recruitment and handle disciplinary procedures.
• Foster a positive team environment through effective leadership and communication.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Bar Manager in a fine dining or upscale bar environment.
• Qualified Mixologist
• Strong leadership qualities with a hands-on management style.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Located in Gauteng with immediate availability preferred.
