Bar Manager – Awesome opportunity to work in a beautiful season island which is part of the UK! Positions will only commence towards end of January 2023, but we will be recruiting well in advance.

Salary: £2666.66 gross per month

Hours: 50 hours over 6 days

Live in Charge: £433.33 per month

Tax and Social Security still to be deducted from the above amount.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working in 5 Star hotel, have excellent cocktail and wine knowledge, exceptional customer care, be able to lead a bar team.

You will be able to work for 9 months on a seasonal visa and then leave for 3 months and return again for 9 months of the next season. If all goes well, the company will look at providing 3 year visas which can lead to British citizenship.

You will need a Police Clearance, a TB test and Hospitality Jobs Africa’s Visa division will assist you with the paperwork requirements.

General Scope of Job:

To be responsible for maintaining the standards of service set by the hotel, improve Beverage sales and to carry out and supervise a detailed training programme for the bar staff. To be the face of th Bar to welcome guests and provide exceptional customer service.

Main Duties and Areas of Accountability

To support management in implementing any new procedures.
To ensure a daily meeting between the Bar team is happening at 6.30pm every evening.
To lead and motivate the Bar team in a positive manner.
To have exceptional knowledge of our menus and dishes at all times.
To reach budgeted beverage sales targets as set by senior management.
To devise and control a rota for Bar personnel. Controlling overtime and giving to hotel management every Thursday by 10am.
To liaise with the Restaurant Manager/Supervisor in order to provide the customer with customer service from bar and restaurant.
To maintain the high standards of service within the Bar by ensuring the Standard of Procedures are adhered to at all times.
To ensure all staff are trained in the necessary Allergen information.
To ensure that all beverage is correctly charged and accounted for
To minimise and control overtime in accordance with management directives.
To carry out and record training sessions with staff, all new starters should be issued a Standard of Procedures policy and trained on each section. This should be signed off and place in the staff file.
To be responsible for stocking and maintaining all Bar equipment with hotel management.
To liaise and assist the GM & DGM, Restaurant Manager on any function/special occasion party reservations.
To adhere to and practice the correct procedures as set out in the Bar Management SOP manual.
To ensure that the Bar is kept to a high standard of cleanliness and in good order.
Organise and supervise cleaning duties and rotas, to be responsible for the Bars compliance centre duties.
To be aware and ensure that your staff adhere to the hotel policy regarding uniform standards and personal hygiene.
Ensure staff are aware of the hotels fire and safety policy.
To liaise with the Head Chef/Restaurant Manager with regards to all matters concerning food service.
Be aware and comply with rules and regulations ensuring staff understand the grievance and disciplinary system.
To attend meetings when requested.
To maintain security in the Bar and make staff aware of the penalty for pilfering.
To recruit members of staff within the department.
To ensure that all bar orders are processed in the correct manner and sales are recorded correctly through the till system using the “mobile tablets”
To be responsible and ensure all bills are processed and tills balance.
To supervise and record any sales promotions.
To do Duty Management shifts when required.
To Ensure all deliveries are correct and recorded.
To ensure that stock takes are correct and fall inline with company guidelines, if a surplus or deficit is found you must investigate and report finding to senior management.

Hours of Work –50 hours per week over 6 days.
