Housekeeping Manager – Luxury All-Suite 4* Hotel – Umhlanga
We are currently seeking a meticulous and dedicated individual to join our client’s team as the Housekeeping Manager for a prestigious luxury all-suite hotel in Umhlanga, South Africa. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a pre-opening team and lead the housekeeping operations of their hotel.
As the Housekeeping Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the hotel. Your strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence will play a vital role in establishing the hotel as a premier destination for discerning travelers in Umhlanga.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the housekeeping team, including room attendants, laundry staff, and public area cleaners
Develop and implement standardized cleaning procedures and schedules to ensure efficiency and quality
Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met in all areas of the hotel
Train and motivate the team, providing ongoing coaching and feedback to maintain high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction
Manage inventory levels and order necessary supplies to ensure smooth operations
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication
Implement and enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean environment for guests and staff
Manage budgets and control costs related to housekeeping operations
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Housekeeping Manager or in a similar role within a luxury hotel or resort
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments
Proven ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and satisfactorily
Familiarity with housekeeping best practices and industry standards
Knowledge of housekeeping software and systems is preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is advantageous
