Banqueting Manager – 4* Hotel – Umhlanga

As the Banqueting Manager, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating and supervising all aspects of our client’s banquet and event operations. From weddings and corporate meetings to gala dinners and special occasions, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of events while upholding the highest standards of service and hospitality.


  • Plan, organize, and execute all banquets and events hosted at our client’s hotel, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and flawless coordination.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their event requirements and preferences, providing personalized service and exceeding expectations.
  • Coordinate with various hotel departments, including catering, culinary, housekeeping, and audio-visual, to ensure smooth and efficient event operations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and setup crews, to deliver exceptional service and hospitality.
  • Manage event budgets and expenses, maximizing revenue opportunities while maintaining cost-effective operations.
  • Utilize Micros Materials Control and Opera Cloud or similar software to manage banquet orders, inventory, and billing processes efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, adhering to local health regulations and company policies.
  • Address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally, striving to enhance guest satisfaction and exceed expectations.


  • Previous experience (minimum 2 years) in a banquet management or event coordination role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel or upscale venue.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Proficiency in Micros Materials Control and Opera Cloud or similar banquet management software is essential.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the role.
  • A proactive attitude, with the ability to anticipate guest needs and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
