Assistant Banqueting Manager Leading Hotel – KZN, North Coast

Our client, a leading hotel group in KZN, North Coast, is looking for a highly organized and dynamic Assistant Banqueting Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the success of a renowned hotel’s event and banqueting services.

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional event experiences? Our client is seeking an Assistant Banqueting Manager to join their team at one of their luxury hotels in KwaZulu-Natal. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and leadership skills to assist in managing the smooth execution of all banqueting and event operations.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in hospitality, experience in overseeing events of various sizes, and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest service. You will assist in coordinating everything from corporate functions to weddings, ensuring each event runs seamlessly and upholds the hotel’s high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Banqueting Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of all banqueting events.
  • Ensure all event setups, breakdowns, and service standards are met to the highest level.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their event requirements and ensure their expectations are exceeded.
  • Manage and train banqueting staff to maintain excellent service and hospitality standards.
  • Oversee event budgets, manage inventory, and ensure proper stock levels for banqueting services.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as catering, front of house, and operations, to ensure event success.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in banqueting or event management within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality guest experiences.
  • A relevant qualification in hospitality management or a related field would be advantageous.
