We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join our team at a luxury lodge in a permanent role based in Mara, Tanzania. Description:

The Accounting Officer will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring the accurate recording of transactions, and maintaining internal controls to protect company assets. Key tasks include overseeing expenditure authorization, assisting with payroll, preparing supplier payments, and analyzing financial reports. You will also play a role in budgeting, stock control, and conducting internal audits.

This position requires close collaboration with regional management, leading monthly finance meetings, and providing timely feedback on financial performance. Additionally, you will train and support staff in accounting procedures, ensuring that systems are followed effectively.

Requirements:

• Education: 3-year finance degree or relevant qualification (CPA preferred).
• Experience: 3-4 years in finance or accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of financial software systems is a plus.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and independent thinking.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong team player with effective communication skills.
• Ethical and responsible in handling financial matters.
