Job Title: Hotel Maintenance Manager Job
Reports to: General Manager
Responsibilities: In charge of hotel building maintenance operation and grounds, room setups, fire and safety programs, and equipment inventory control.
Special qualifications: Ability to supervise a variety of personnel actions and direct a work force to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean and orderly manner. Appreciation of special needs of union users. Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules. Some knowledge of techniques and crafts involved in preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and construction. Open to new ideas and adaptable to changing technology.
This role reports directly into the Hotel General Manager and is responsible for the day to day upkeep of the hotel, including;
– Leading and developing a small team
– Managing sub contractors working in the hotel on specific projects
– Working with the general manager on all on going refurbishment plans
– Ordering and management of stock
– Health + Safety, risk assessments
Candidates should have a proven ability within a hospitality maintenance position and demonstrate an ability to work within brand standards.
Candidates must have all round knowledge of hotel maintenance issues.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business management is desirable although significant experience and special training may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
Core competencies: Communication, Facilities Management, Human Resource Development for dealing with recruitment and selection for the sub-team including handyman, greenkeeper, and gardeners. A hotel maintenance manager job essentially requires the incumbant to be an all rounder which generalist experience in maintenance management.
