HOTEL FINANCIAL MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The Hotel Financial Manager Job provides the Owners, General Manager, and other management with accurate, timely, and relevant financial data. Additionally responsible for managing the audit function in hotel to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability

Requirements:

· An undergraduate qualification in Financial Accounting/ Financial Management as recognized by SAQA or a Bcom Accounting Degree

· Preferable 5 – 10 working experience in Finance and Accounting related fields

· Valid driver’s license

· Previous hospitality industry experience will be advantageous

Knowledge:

· Financial prescripts experience (IFRS)

· Insurance related knowledge

· Sage Evolution, Easipos and Pastel Payroll knowledge would be advantageous

Skills:

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to perform duties with limited supervision

· Deadline orientated with attention to detail

· Hands-on, proactive approach

· Assertiveness

· Ability to communicate accounting matters with all levels

· Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

Management of accounts receivable (i.e. distribution of statements, following up on outstanding invoices, processing remittances, reconciliations etc.)

Preparation of information for and execution of monthly invoicing cycle and reconciliations

Manage tax related matters i.e. Vat, PAYE, Income Tax, etc.

Full management of all fixed assets of the company (asset register, depreciation, location etc)

Manage all insurance related matters (updates, claims, yearly revisions, etc)

Function of stock of the hotel alongside the procurement manager, F&B Manager, Accommodation Manager and other department heads

Ensure smooth operations of all finance related matters

Preparation of management reports, financial statements and other financial related reports and correspondence

Resolution of finance related queries

Recruitment and Selection of departmental staff
